Houston is one of the best places to live in Texas Many people from different parts of U.S come to Houston to start a new life. Here are the 5 best neighborhoods in Houston.

West University Place

It is a small town, but it has its own police and city government. This is an upper middle class neighborhood. It is only blocks away from Rice University. The nation’s largest medical center is just a mile away also. Parks and museums are nearby. Back in 2014, there was a string of foreclosures in this area, and we were able to pick up (and flip) a few properties in this neighborhood quickly. If you want to live near downtown, then this is the best place to live. The houses cost 50 percent less than its nearby towns. There are many bungalows around the town. The town is best known for its architecture. This is a favorite place for young urban professionals.


This is a small town built for upper middle class families. There are one-storey small brick homes. It is only minutes away from the Texas Medical Center. The downtown is only 30 minutes away. You can buy homes for a very reasonable price here. There are many clubs in the town where he residents enjoy spending their leisure time.

Hunters Creek Village

It is part of the Memorial Villages. It is the fifth wealthiest district in Teas. You can buy homes from $100,000 to millions of dollars. There are beautiful lakes, big houses and country clubs. The school system of this city is awesome.

The Woodlands

The city is full of upscale malls, corporate campuses, large parks and outdoor music pavilion. There are hotels, hospitals and convention centers. It has 6,000 acres of protected green space. There are 200 miles of bike and walking paths. There are about 125 small and large parks. You will find lots of trees in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood you choose to live in depends on your budget and the amenities you want. For example, if you are looking for a quiet area then Woodlands will be a good choice. The neighborhoods just discussed are all very beautiful places and you will enjoy living there.

Honorable Mention…Medical Center

Manley Realty Services did a great write up on reasons to buy condos in the Houston Medical Center. This is a bustling area and the property values seem to hold no matter what the Houston market is doing (probably because this is one area in Houston that does not depend on the Oil & Gas market).

A: Nearly all my life, but technically…about 30 years give or take. I grew up on the north side, near The Woodlands.

Q: Where is your favorite area of Houston?

I would have to agree that these are 5 great neighborhoods to live in, but my fav is Bellaire, with The Heights coming in a close second.
